Fire-eating Japanese Foreign Minister Resigns

New* Agency announces that Mr Shinegon Togo, Japanese Minister of Foreign and Overseas Affairs, has resigned for “persona, reasons." When the Emperor was informed of the resignation he ordereo general ToJo, the Prime Minister, to take over the portfolio of Foreign A 1 - fairs, so that he is now Prime Minister,- War Minister and * Minister of Foreign Affairs. Mr Togo was Ambassador to Russia from 1938 to 1941. He was notorious as a friend pf Germany and was largely responsible for the promotion of the Anti-Commintern Pact. On his return to Japan he distinguished himself as a fierce fire-eater and was largely responsible for driving Japan into the war.
