Charged With Stealing £31,496 Worth of Gold
Per press Association. WELLINGTON.' Aug. 1. Leo Edward, metallurgist, charged witl* stealing 5650 ounces of alluvial gold valued at £31,496 from the Arahura Gold Dredging Company, has been further remanded till September 15. The Mayor (Mr A. E. Mansford) acknowledges the following donations to Patriotic funds:—Joan Manson and Others £3; Betty. Margaret and Barbara Soper £2 7s.
