Patriotic Shop
The first three days of last week were taken by the First Church of Christ Scientists. Convenors were Me-dames C.. A. Driver, L. F. Speechley and D. Raebone. Congratulations are due to this or ganisation on their initial effort. Compe-! titions were not held. Receipts were £SO Tne convenors wish to thank all w.m. gave their support and the ladies of th. staff. The latter part of the week the National Club took over. Convenors were Mesdames C. G. Hayward, H. G. Mills and C. A. Driver. Thanks are due to t». ladies who staffed the snop and to the public and members tor donations o* goods. Receipts were £2B 18s 9d. Making the total for the week £79 8s 9d. Donations of goods for competition are acknowledged as follows:—Water Set, Mr F. Cubitt; 25 of flour, Mrs K. Dean; Cushion, Mr L. Plimmer; Iced Cake, Mrs rl. G. Mills; Wall Mirror, Junior National party; Hand Painted Plate, Mrs G. Watchorn; 51bs Honey, Mrs C. A. Driver; Pair Slippers,, Mrs C. G. Hayward; 21b. box Queen Anne chocolate, Mr L. Hughes, Teddy Bear, Anonymous. This week the Manawatu Golf Club art in charge. Mrs S. J. Parkes is visitor for the shop committee.
