Promotion of Officers
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 27. Included among appointments and promotions of officers of the New Zealand military forces gazetted to-night are the following:— Staff Appointments: Major G. R. Rowbotham, Koyal Artillery, is appointed to command an anti-aircraft brigade with the local rank of Colonel. Lieutenant Colonel V. A. Young, M.C., Koyal Artillery, is appointed to a command in the southern military district, with the rank of Colonel. Major E. L. Davies, Koyal Artillery, is appointed to command an anti-aircraft brigade with the local rank of Colonel. Major H. E. Fernyhough, Koyal Artillery, is appointed commandant of the New Zealand Staff College with the local rank of Colonel.
Second N.Z.E.F. Appointments: Brigadier K. MacCormick, C.8.E., D. 5.0., is appointed Director of Medical Services. Major K. L. C. Grant is to be second in command Divisional Signals unit. Major S. J. Hedge is to be Deputy Assistant Q.M.G. of Base Camp. Major C. G. Pryor is to command the Signal School.. Temporary Major 1. A. Hart is to be second in command of the Infantry Training Depot. LieutenantColonel J. N. Peart is to command a battalion. Temporary LieutenantColonel C. N. Watson, M.C., is to command an advance base. Major J. F. K. Rprosen is to command a field regiment. Major L. B. Ballantyne is to command the Composite Training Depot. Major H. E. Crosse, M.C., is to command the Reception Depot. Major E. F. Walden is to command an infantry training depot. Major E. T. Kensington is to command a field regiment. Major L. N. McKay is to command the Artillery Training Depot. Major I. O. Manson is to command a battalion. LieutenantColonel P. A. Ardagh, D. 5.0., M.C., is to be Assistant Director of Medical Services. Major J. S. King, M.8.E., is appointed General Staff Officer (first grade) of the Base Camp. Major D. E. Harper is to command the Engineer and Ordnance Depot. Lieutenant-Colonel L. J. Hunter is to command a casualty clearing station. Temporary LieutenantColonel C. M. Williamson is to command a base camp. Major B. Barrington is to be Deputy Assistant Q.M.G., New Zealand Division. Lieutenant-Colonel D. T. Maxwell is to be colonel. Mr. W. G. Tweedy, M.8.E., is to be New Zealand Ked Cross Commissioner in the Middle East with the honorary rank of Major. Lieutenant-Colonel F. Prideaux is to be colonel. Major J. S. Martin. M.8.E., is to bo Lieutenant-Colonel. Major H. W. D. Lake is to be Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel.
