The production of special macaroni and biscuit wheats was referred to in * report by the director of the Wheat Research Institute, Dr- F. W. Hilgendorf, in Christchurch. He said that the macaroni wheats produced last harvest were supplied to a milling company, and when used in blends for making macaroni were reported as having a good effect on the quality of the macaroni. The mill had secured the sowing of all the seed supplied, so that there would be enough durum wheat for some commercial use next year.
