Received Friday, 10 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 27. A Vichy message, quoring the Petit Parisian, says the last ofi.vs of foreign nationality who entered France since 1936, were rounded up in the unoccupied zone to-day for deportation to Eastern Europe. The occupation auenorities ordered mayors to erase the names of all Jews from the civil register, thereby depriving then* of ordinary civil rights. The Lyons radio announced that for the first time since the armistice, the Tricolour flew from the dome of Les Invalides, Paris, on the departure of the first French volunteers for the Russian front. A Tricolour standard was presented to the battalion, while the Marseillaise was played. Darlan, Debrinon and Abetz were present. Reports reaching Borne from Paris indicate that unrest is continuing. The latest incident occurred last night, when a bomb exploded during a meeting of the Collaborationist movement, killing one and injuring many. The Oslo radio reported that five Norwegian army officers were sentenced to death in Oslo for 4 4 terrorist activity favouring the enemy.” Three others were sentenced to five, three and two years’ hard labour respectively. The official organisation of German wireless manufacturers, membership of which is compulsory, has issued an order limiting the manufacture of radio receivers to a single type which is unable to pick up short-wave transmissions. The Telegraph says the object is to stop people from listening to Allied short-wave broadcasts. Simultaneously, the so-called European Con vent ion passed a resolution limiting wireless components to fixed designs. The convention binds all manufacturers in occupied countries. The German wireless industry is fully occupied with service orders, and receivers for the public are made mostly in France and Holland.
