NEW YORK, Aug. 27, The New York Times writer Arthur Krock says hign ranking officials who have just returned xrom Britain anu nad access to the most confidential sources express the following views on the general war situation:— Britain.—Mr. Churchill is strongoi than ever; his Government does not race any loss of power or office, whilo the resolution ox the British people was never stronger than it is now. Egypt.—Reverses, sanguinary battle® and narrow escapes from disaster *re to be expected; nevertheless the militarists are confident they can maintain air supremacy and thus win through. Russia.—Mr. Churchill, who M. Stalin wholly co-operative, learned more about Russian military matters than he or any other statesman previously knew. According to this information, the Russians expect to hoM the Caucasus and also maintain the 1 '* winter stand, probably along the Volga. The Pacific. —Following the American naval offensive, the Japanese will not try to attack Australia or India.
