The New Zealand Air Headquarters have received advice from the Air Ministry in London that the second pilot of the Duke of Kent’s plane, who was aiso killed in the crash, was Temporary ±’light-Bergeant Edward Francis Blackiock, whose mother, Mrs. M. C. Blacklock, lives in Dunedin. Blacklock was born in Dunedin in 1912 and at the time of his enlistment was employed by the New Zealand Railways.
The death is announced in an Auckland Press message of Rev. A. B. Cheppeli, M.A., in his /oth year. He was formerly a Wesleyan minister, registrar of the Auckland University, ana was also on the editorial staff of the New Zealand lie raid, from which he retired last year, in his time he was actively associated with many educational and commercial bodies and young people’s movements. During his association with the ministry Mr. Chappell for a lime neld appointments at Bedding and Wanganui. At one time he was associated with the Woodville Examiner.
