New Seminary to be Built

Per Press Association, t WELLINGTON, Aug. 28. ! r Wellington has been selected as New I Zealand Headquarters of St. Columban’s Mission Society, and a seminary for training missionary priests is to be 1 built. * The Rev. Father J. McGlypn, former- * ly rector of the missionary seminary at Esseuden, Victoria, arrived recently | and has taken up his duties. Missionary districts are China, Korea, Burma and some areas in the Philippines. Father McGlynn says that although it is unlikely the seminary will be built until after the war, the society’s work will be carried on meanwhile in an i existing establishment. He mentioned i that the Rev. Father Francis Herlihy, 3 D.L.C., had been appointed to the staff.. i Father Herlihy is at present detained j in Korea, where he was working before Japan, entered the war.
