British Weapons Equal to World’s Best

While expressing sincere appreciation of the spirit ox generosity in which the united otates administered the ieaseiena agreement, tho Minister of Prouuetion, Mr. Oliver .Lyttelton, in a oroaacaat to the United estates, pointed out that Britain, too, was doing ner snare under this agreement. Whe haa sent to tne United otates, under what was known as reciprocal aid, some things of which tho united btaies was m urgent need —for instance, anti-air-er&xt guns, aexence oailoons, pianes ana suomarme-cnasers. Dealing with the efficiency of British weapons, Mr. Lyttelton saia: 1 * To-day our pursuit pianes are the fastest ana most efficient lighting weapons in the world. Our 3.'/-men anti-aircraft guns, our 26-pounder field guns, and our sixpounder anti-tank guns have proven outstanding successes and at least equax to any produced by the enemy or tho United otates.” Britain's early tanks had some defects, Mr. Lyttelton said, but the/sa have now been remedied, and he was confident that the latest types had at least no superior.
