Call for Patriotic Funds
To-day the Women's Patriotic Committee of Feilding will be conducting a shop and street day in a special effort to build up the town's quota of patriotic funds. Since the war broke out the women have done an immense amount of solid practical work in bringing in patriotic moneys and to-day's effort is directed towards every citizen. By the kind permission of the Officer Commanding Ist WellingtonWest Coast Regiment, Lieut.-Colonel Pratt, the band of the Regiment will visit Feilding to-day and play m the town to assist the campaign. Given a fine day the collectors should be successful in securing a donation from everyone. The giving towards this essential object cannot bo left to the other fellow; it concerns every individual who consciously or unconsciously enjoys his or her freedom and acknowledges that that freedom is only possible while our boys overseas are supported up to the hilt. Gifts of foodstuffs, meat, etc. are solicited for the Patriotic shop and everyone in a position to do so should accord practical help to to-day’s appeal. The Women’s Patriotic Committee is doing its useful part and looks to citizens and settlers to co-operate to the fullest.
