Identity of Commodore Discovered
LEFT NEW ZEALAND IN 1895 Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Jan. 5. . The sefning mystery surrounding the! Identity of recently-promoted AirfCommodore Maynard, stated in a cabin .|» belong to Waiuku, New Zealand, has •been solved. Born at the Vicarage at Waiuku, near Auckland, in May 1893, hi* lather was from England and was ▼tear of Waiuku. A friend of the family residing at Waiuku states that the family were In New Zealand about three years. They left when their son was about two yearj eld. During the Great War, AirCommodore Maynard was a flightlieutenant in the Air Force and piloted one of die escort planes which accompanied the Prince of Wales to France. Later he was attached to General Allanby’s staff in Egypt. When the last pews reached New Zealand m 1923 he was married and had one son.
