Mr. and Mrs. A. Griggs, who have been spending the New Year holiday with Mrs. Martin, Tararua Street, left on Tuesday for Brooklyn, Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. A. Skilton, who spent Christmas and the New Year with relatives at Mangatainoka and Pahiatua, left on Tuesday for Trentham. Mrs. H. Paterson and Mr. George Paterson arrived in Pahiatua late on Tuesday night by car on their return from Auckland. ! Trooper J. B. Beech, of the Divisional Cavalry Regiment, spent the latter days of his final leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Beech, Tiraumea Road. In tho course of his leave, he also visited his farm at Kencpuru, Marlborough. He was given farewell presentations at functions organised by the townspeople of Picton, the Queen Charlotte Yacht Club, the Picton Volunteer Eire Brigade, the people of Kencpuru, and the R.S.A. A presentation was also made by the Picton Red Cross Society.
