Return of Petrol Restrictions
EFFECT ON LATE HOLIDAY MAKERS With a knowledge that the Government intends to reimpose the petrol restrictions at an early date, many of those whose holidays arc not due until February or Alarch feel that they will bo deprived of the use of their cars and suggest that provision should be made to meet their cases. It is argued that while the petrol restrictions are off those taking their holidays have been able to enjoy to the full the unrestricted use of their motor-cars and therefore those whose holidays do not como until later should not be debarred the same privileges. Many had planned to visit the Centennial Exhibition during their holidays and proposed to make use of their cars, but if the petrol restrictions are reimposed many such journeys will of necessity have to be cancelled. It has been suggested in many quarters that the Government might make some pronouncement on the subject, to enable those in a position to do so to make other arrangements. There are many farmers as well as town dwellers in Feilding and district who have been impressed with the probability of petrol restrictions being reimposed at an early date and fear that their holiday plans will be frustrated. Holiday time for farmers is generally round about early autumn aud the rcimposition of petrol restrictions will certainly upset holiday plans should the curtailment of the use of petrol apply as early as appears to be commonly anticipated.
