From Our Own Correspondent, ivietnoaist Biole ula»ss Picnic. The annual Methodist Bible Glass picnic was held at Mr. E. H. Clifton's, farm on the Oroua Bivcr on New Yearns Day. The 35 members present, including visitors from Palmerston North, spent a happy day. in the absence of Bev. Ashworth, who is on holiday, Air. W. B. Piatt was in charge of arrangements. Lunch and afternoon tea were served and swimming and games were enjoyed. A’cw Year week-end was celebrated with ideal summer weather and the Alarton Block bridge and the Goal Greek bridge were the centres of attraction to many picnic parties who gathered near the popular swimming holes. {Several farmers were busy getting in hay that bad been mown before tho wet days of the previous week. Personal. Miss J. Malcolm, of Te Puke, is staying with her father at Alarton Block and visiting other relatives in the district. Miss At. Calder was a, holiday visitor from ‘Wellington who stayed with her sister, Airs. H. Schmidt,. Air. and Mrs. Prujean spent New Year in the Wairarapa. Air. T. Brazier has been in Wellington visiting the Exhibition. Aliss Donna Swift, of Wellington, has been the guest of Airs. Geo.
