The German authorities have shot Professor Czeslaw Bialobrzesci, the Polish physicist who succeeded Madame Curie on the League of Nations Committee of Intellectual Collaboration, for allegedly supplying arms and ammunition to Polish troops. His friends says that the explosives which the Nazis claim they found in his laboratory were merely a small quantity of chemicals for experiments. * * • Chile and Germany have signed a year's extension of their temporary trade agreement. It is not explained how they expect to trade in face of the Allied blockade. <* * * France has reached an agreement with Belgium and Luxemburg granting important industrial and agricultural credits in return for the maintenance of normal exports to France. * * # On December 24 the British Air Ministry issued a statement denying a German allegation that an R.A.F. officer intered in Luxemburg had broken his parole by escaping from his guard. It is revealed in London that, accordin' to information received from the Luxemburg Government, the R.A.F. officer concerned had with drawn his .parole 48 hours before he escaped.
