SNOW REDUCES WESTERN FRONT FIGHTING
(Received 30, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 2S* / Snow has been falling on the Western which has considerably reduced patrol activity. • The French communique states that there is nothing of importance to report, snowfalls and fog having brought operations on the Western Front to a standstill. A later French communique, however, states that there has been a rehewal of air activity and some action by French advance units. The communique says that a reconnoitring detachment surprised an enemy patrol in the Vosges region, some prisoners being taken The German war communique announced that the Western Front was luiet except for slight harassing artil- : fery fire from the enemy. It is reported from Luxembourg that a German mine exploded nea** ■ the ruins of Schenger Bridge, which i Is one of two that were blown up on j pecember 27. Germans were later seen ■ removing the bodies of several soldiers. I
