White Butterflies

The indications for the past few months were that the white butterfly pest in the Opotiki district had been brought under control, but .following heavy rain recently the butterflies have appeared in large numbers and it would seem that there will be a further increase in the next few weeks. The butterflies aro flying about in clusters and crops are already being noticeably attacked by the caterpillars. Few parasites are to be seen in the district.
