Caledonian Gathering at Feilding

PIFING AND HIGHLAND EVENTS The Feilding Caledonian Pipe Band’s Caledonian gathering was held at Johnston Park on Saturday afternoon. Public support was not all that it might have been owing, no doubt, to the fine holiday weather which had taken many people to the beaches. A moderate crowd followed with interest the various piping and .Highland dancing events. Unfortunately, the drum majors’ display item could not be staged owing to a misunderstanding between the performers and the local committee. The absence of this event, however, will be made good in the demonstration to be held in Feilding during February next. The baby show attracted good entries and provided exciting interest for the womenfolk. The judges and officials were:— Piping, Mr, R. Thompson (Wanganui); dancing, Mr. IT. IT.
