RAF. Again Flies Oyer Germany

ONE PLANE PALLS TO RETURN (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Dec. 28. The Air Ministry announced late last night that reports current on Wednesday to the effect that German aircraft made an extensive reconnaissance over the Thames Estuary were without foundation. Royal Air Force Fighter Command patrols were active in the area duriug tho morning, and it is possible that ground observers mistook one of these aircraft for an enemy raider. The Air Ministry announced at 12.35: ( “A successful reconnaissance of North- . west Germany was carried out by i Royal Air Force aircraft on Wednesday. One of our aircraft failed to return.” A German High Command communique states: “Two British planes attempted to fly over tho German coast. A German fighter shot down one, and anti-aircraft gunners drove off the other.”
