Protest at Preference Given Radio
PRESS SHOULD HAVE SAME ACCESS TO NEWS United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Friday, 9.15 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 29. The London Printing Trades Federation passed a resolution strongly protesting against “preferential treatment accorded the 8.8. C. regarding the dissemination of news." Speakers declared this adversely affected tho employment of workers on the newspaper side. The federation demanded immediate cessation of discrimination which was placing tho press at a disadvantage. It cited the inadequate account given the press of the recent flight over Germany, although the pilot was allowed to broadcast incidents and details, and Mr. Churchill’s premature radio announcement of the arrival of the Canadian contingent.
