Scales Interfered With
At Wingatui on Wednesday tho stipendiary steward reported that before the day’s racing commenced he had discovered that 21b. of lead had been placed in the jockey’s scales by some person unknown, which, would have resulted, had the lead not been discovered, in all jockeys being weighed out 21b. under weight. Tho matter has been referred to the racecourse inspector for investigation, and the judicial committee thanked the stipendiary steward for his alertness and prompt action in the . matter.
