Esperanto Congress
TO TAKE PLACE IN WELLINGTON The tenth Now Zealand Esperanto congress, conducted under tho auspices of the New Zealand Esperanto Association, will take place in Wellington from December 30 to January 2 inclusive, when delegates from clubs and individual Esperantists from all parts of the Dominion will bo present. Tho Mayor of Wellington, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, will officially open tho. congress at 2 p.m. on the opening day. In addition to four business sessions interesting events have been planned. An evening will be devoted to lecturettes in Esperanto from both local and overseas Esperantists. Another evening has been reserved for the presentation of plays and monologue in the international language. One of the sessions will be conducted entirely in Esperanto, when members of the International Esperanto League will hold their deliberations. An excursion has also been arranged, when tho members of the congress will visit beauty spots around the capital city. A dance evening will enable Dominion Esperantists to completely relax, renew acquaintance with old friends and meet new enTho president of the New Zealand Esperanto Association, Mr. Bertram Potts, J.P., states that many important matters will como before the Congress. great progress in all parts of tho world is evidenced by the numbers of books, both original and translated, which have appeared in. Esperanto. Tho world sorely needs this simple international laug-
unge, which would enable the nations to understand each other and appreciate to a greater degree each other’s problems.
