African Planes to Aid Finland

LEAGUE INQUIRY RESPONSES GENEVA, Dec. 26. South Africa, so far, has sent the most positive reply to the League's in-

quiry regarding the proposed assistance to Finland. South Africa declared that she intended to send Finland aircraft which were previously earmarked for the defence of the Union. Argentina, Ecuador, Venezuela, Haiti, Bolivia, and Mexico informed the League of their profound sympathy for Finland and their readiness to assist as far as possible, although they made no mention of military' help. Peru, while appreciating tho moral value of the Assembly’s resolution, was unable to support it.
