Staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. 11. J. King, of Albert Street, is Miss Lorna King, of Auckland. Miss Elvie Diedericb, of Auckland, is spending the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dicderich, of Linton Street. Mr. and Mrs. W. Elphick and children (Timaru) arc staying with Mrs. Elphick parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. Seifert, Victoria Avenue. Mr. and Mrs. 1). C. Cullinane, of Feilding, accompanied by their two small sons, are spending some weeks at their beach house, Paekakariki. Mr. and Mrs. P. Richardson Grant, Mclling, and their children, and Miss Mae Gilmer are visiting Air. and Mrs. F. Grotrian, “Konewa,” Ashhurst. Mrs. Duncan McGibbon, of Danncvirke, accompanied by her small son is spending some time with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Seifert, Kanfurly Avenue, Feilding. Among Feilding visitors to Wellington for the New Year holidays will be Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Dummer, and Mr. and Mrs. D. N. Ferguson and their two small sons. Mr. and Mrs. Clinco Little, Bank ot Australasia, Waipawa, accompanied by their threo children, spent the Christmas holidays with Mr. and Mrs. G. P. Little, of “Fair Oak,” Martou. Mrs. E. A. Westwood, and her daughter, Miss Jocelyn Westwood, of Wellington, have returned home after spending Christmas in Feilding as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Penhev. Miss Betty Stubbs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Stubbs, of Albert Street, has completed her B.A. degree at Victoria College. Miss Stubbs is at present spending a holiday at Tauranga. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Rosanowski, Miss Edna Kosanowski, Auckland, Mr. A. Rosanowski and Miss Colleen Wilson, Kawa Kawa (Bay of Islands), are the guests of Mr and Mrs. M. Rosanowski, Taonui Street. Miss Linda Monro, of “Craiglockhart,” Fitzhcrbcrt, secured second placo for Jacobean embroidery in the needlework section of tho Centennial Exhibition, and a special award for two pictures worked with human hair. Human hair work was a popular art in the 16th century and has been interestingly revived by Miss Monro.
