PIPING AND DANCING RESULTS The annual Boxing Day sports held at I Mungatainoha proved a great success and thero was a record crowd present. Following are the results of tho piping and dancing events:— Piping Events (Judge: Mr. McCowan.) Marches: J. McKenzie 3, A. McMillan 2, L. Sattrup 3. JStrathspeys and reels: A. McMillan 1, J. McKenzie 2, W. Linton and W. G. McKenzie (equal) 3. Laments: J. McKenzie 3, Murdo McKenzie 2, A. McMillan 3. B grade marches* J. Patterson 1, W. B. Finlayson 2, G. Esau 3. Dancing Events I (Judge: Mr. T. W. Watts.) Highland fling, under 10: Patricia Muir 3, F. Woodroofo 2, M. Piper 3. Sean Triubhas, under 12 years: Mavis Gannaway 1, J. Ryan 2, Barbara Burgess and Audrey Young (equal) 3. Sword dance, under 16 (Australian Glass Co’s. Cup): Anita Copeland (Auckland) 1, Edna Maye 2, Jean Kerr and Meta McKenna (equal) 3. Hornpipe, under 16: Meta McKenna 1, Shirley Henderson 2, Jean Holdsworth 3. Irish jig (open): I. Taylor 1, Y. Daldy 2, Dorothy McLean 3. Dance in Library Hall The sports wound up most successfully with a dance in the Library Hall, which was filled to capacity by a gay holiday crowd. Music was played by Ken Seliou and his Musical Knights, from Feilding, and Mr. F. J. Martin 1 acted as M.C. Supper was served under tho efficient direction of Mesdames J. A. Ross, A. G. Kerrison and W. R. Davenport. The sports and dance together raised j a useful contribution to the Pahiatua ' Red Cross Society’s funds.
