Plenty of Time

Mr. Chamberlain, Herr Hitler and Signor Mussolini were in a boat on a lake when Hitler dropped a coin in the water and said that the one who got it was the winner. Ho blew a whistle, and up came 300 Nazis, who dived in and came up without the coin. Mussolini blew his whistle and up came 500 Fascists, who dived in and came up without tho coin. Mr. Chamberlain brought tho boat to the edge of the lake, got a spoon, and began ladling out the water. “What is your game?" said Hitler. “If I empty the lake," said Mr. Chamberlain, “I shall be sure to find the coin." “But it will take years and years," they said. Mr. Chamberlain laughed. “Yes, but I have plenty of time."— Children’s Newspaper, London.
