Britain Busy Planning Increase in Wool Export Trade

The Wool Control policy continues to receive much prominence and attention. There has been a series of important meetings, including a private conference of Australian and New Zealand interests. The Yorkshire Observer draws attention to the week’s great activity iq connection with plans to increase the export of wool. The trade claims that no-one can deny that the Wool Control has achieved its primary objects cj conserving the nation’s wool suppliei and providing the wool commoditiej required for the prosecution of the war The President of the Board of Trade, Mr Oliver Stanley, in announcing that it was intended to fix cotton prices, said that a levy of not more than .04d per lb. on raw cotton proposed for financing measures for the development of the cotton export trade.
