Mr. F. W. G. McLeod, conductor of the Palmerston North City Silver Band, is to be the adjudicator at the South Auckland Band contest to bo held at Te Aroha next Easter. It is officially announced that in re spouse to a request from his Majesty’s Government in New Zealand, the Marquis of Willingdon, G.C.5.1., G.C.M.G., G.C.1.E., G.8.E., has been invited to represent tho United Kingdom Government during the Centennial celebrations which arc to bo held in New Zealand next year. He will be accompanied by tho Marchioness of Willingdon. 1 ord and Lady Willingdon will arrive in New Zealand in time to attend the celebrations in the early part of 1940. Mr. Keith O. Anderson, M.A., a former well-known Auckland University and Auckland representative Rugby footballer, has been appointed headmaster of the North Sydney Church of England Preparatory Grammar School. Mr. Anderson was educated at the Hamilton High School, and later attended the Auckland University College. lie took up teaching as a profession, and joined the staff of the Takapuna Grammar School. He next joined the staff of the Dunedin Technical College, and has lately been on tho staff of the Wanganui Technical College.
