The Auckland Trotting Club’s summer meeting will open on Wednesday when, providing the present spell of good weather continues, tho Epsoin track will be very fast. During the moctiug Lawn Derby will attempt to lower the course mile record of Van Derby, and the trotting mare, Nell Volo, will also attempt to reduce Worthy Queen’s mile trotting record of 2.3 3-5. Jhe fields on the first day are well balanced with splendid class in the two chief races. The local cup favourites, Uenuku and Bed Plash, are in fine order, while Bill B, Icevus, Marlene and Battlefield from Canterbury are in good heart. The Australian, Springfield Globe, has mado many friends since his arrival. The following may be in demand in their respective events: Selby Trot: Milestone, Air Pilot Elliotvale. December Handicap: Cavalrraian, Sir Echo, Clay Pot. Grandstand Handicap: Francisco, Peler Smith, Fortex. Cup: Uenuku, Bed Flush, Bill B. Akarana Handicap: Bevision, Honeatus, Kete Kura.
