General Notes

Holiday Traffic. That the new surface on Vogel Street was completed just in time, has been evidenced by the increased motor traffic through the town during the last few weeks. Over the week-end tho volume of traffic travelling in both directions was very large, and it was not difficult to imagine the conditions which would have prevailed had the street been unsealed for the fine weather experienced this Christmas. Boxing Day Quiet. The weather was fine in Woodville yesterday and race traffic passing through gave the town a busy appearanco in the morning. A large number of residents were attracted, no doubt, by the sports meeting at Mangatainoka which is held eac'h Boxing Day and which proves vfry popular in the Manawatu. On the Woodville bowling green yesterday a progressive pairs tourney was scheduled to take place and with the green in good condition, play was most enjoyable.
