Mainly Fair With Scattered Showers Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 25. Tho anti-cyclone to the north has continued to lose intensity and a series of weak depressions has been passing in the south. Winds: Between north-west and south-west predominating but with a more definite south-westerly change advancing from the south to-morrow; fresh in force about and south of Cook Strait, but light to moderate in the north. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough in Cook and Foveaux Straits and south of Farewell Spit; elsewhere slight or moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: West to southwest winds prevailing, light to moderate in the north portion with slight seas: fresh to strong in the southern portion with rough seas. Weather; Changeable in the western and southern areas of the South Island with occasional rain; elsewhere mainly fair to fine but with a few scattered light showers in the North Island and showers extending up the east coast of the South Island with tho southerly change. Temperatures warm in tho north, cooler in the south. YESTERDAY’S WEATHER Auckland: Sun and cloud, calm. Hamilton: Cloudy, calm. New Plymouth: Sun and cloud, light breeze.
