Germans Claim Heavy Toll of Shipping
51,500 TONS IN ONE DAY Received Monday, 7.20 p.m. BERLIN, Dec. 24. A war German communique says British and neutral shipping which ventured into the danger zone on Saturday suffered heavy losses amounting to eleven ships, eight of which were British. The total tonnage involved was about 51,500.
