Final Gallops for Waipukurau

NORA GREGOR WELL STERNCHASE AND ENDORSEMENT PLEASE From Our Own Correspondent. HASTINGS, Dec. 23. The majority of the Hastings-tramee horses racing at Waipukurau on BoxI ing Day were given their final gallops this morning. The plough was practically the only track used. «f © © Llndrum was given solid pace exercise. He appears to be in tip-top order and condition for Tuesday’s Amalgamation Hack Cup. • • • Mimetical (Atkins) appeared to have the measure of Fasolt (Power) over five furlongs in 66£secs. * * • There was little to choose between Tidal Lass (Murray) and Isis (Atkins) over half a mile in 51isecs, with the former finishing the strongest. • • • Tableau (Murray) and Imogen (Power) were associated in a six-fur-long gallop, which occupied 1.20, the first two in 25secs. Imogen was going the best at the finish. © *0 • ' Kobi (Parramore) was a clear length ahead of Yogi (Campbell) at the end of three-quarters of a mile in 1.195. Yogi has fully recovered from his poisoned leg, but the interruption in his preparation was a setback. * • • Le Toquet (Forsyth) and Smooger (Atkins), neither of which is a free track worker, took 1.44$ for once round, finishing together. © © © Neither Classical (B. Stowe) nor Kahlika (G. Stowe) were hurting themselves at any part of seven furlongs run in 1.35. W • • Nora Gregor (Atkins) was responsible for the smartest five-fur-lonr gallop of the morning, to record 64J secs. She was not fully Extended. © * * Oxyopia (Power) surprised by beating Hyderabad (Mudford) over six furlongs in 1.2055. * * • Hunting Moments (E. Baker) sprin- ■ ted three furlongs twice, but was not timed. This mare is working as well as ever she has. • • • In running six furlongs in 1.17$ Sternchase (Atkins) and Endorsement (Cullen) ran about the best of the morning. Although finishing together, Sternchase was going slightly better making the winning post. •• • • Golden Melody (Forsyth) was bowling along easily throughout his five furlongs in 66secs. • • • On the inside grass Black Out (Campbell), who does n,ot race until the Hastings meeting, ran her three furlongs alone In 38secs. © • • On the same track, Barbara Miller (Campbell) was under a slight restraint to return 51secs for a half-mile. • • • Flying Flag (Cullen), who for some reason, always gallops alone, ran seven furlongs in a shade under 1.33, the last six in 1.192. ft * * Morning Flight is now definitely starting in the Hunter Handicap at Waipukurau and not in the Amalgamation Hack Cup.
