SPECIAL FORCE MEN AT KIMBOLTON
Social and Presentation Alembers of the Special Force from I Kimbolton and district were accorded a send-off on Saturday evening at the local hall, which was crowded for the occasion. A special local committee sponsored by Alessrs. A. S. D’Ath and R. Richardson, with Alessrs. G. Lintott and P. Stone as joint secretaries, organised the gathering, which was ably assisted by a committee of ladies and presided over by Rev. F. E. Floury, the vicar. The gathering took the form of a social and dance and the members of the Special Force honoured were R. Thevenard, P. Keith, B. Edmundson, H. Pretious and D. Hocking. They were supported by 14 visiting members of the Special Force. Rev. Air. Fleury addressed the gathering and paid a tribute to the volunteers who had come forward to serve their country and the Empire. To each of the five members of the district lie presented as a gift from the residents a safety razor. Air. P. Keith replied on behalf of the recipients. During the evening items were rendered by Alias Fleury and Alessrs. P. Keith, AI. Cameron, J. Hansen and R. Prince. A delicious supper was served by a committee of ladies.
