No Progress on Karelian Isthmus HEAVY RUSSIAN LOSSES OF WAR Received Friday, 7.5 p.m. HELSINKI, December 21. There were no planes under 10,000 feet over the capital, for which reason, even if military objectives were contemplated, the bombing could only be haphazard. A communique states: “The Karelian Isthmus offensive continued all day with the positions unchanged at nightfall. The enemy losses were severe and included eight tanks and at least twenty machine-guns. Finnish artillery bombarded the enemy lines, causing heavy losses. “The battle of Aglajarvi continues, the Russians losing nine heavy tanks, two field-guns, three armoured ears and 20 machine-guns. The Finns destroyed a battalion, killing 600 between Piclisjarvi and Grigoriev. “Finns advanced at Kuolajarvi, destroying a battalion, killing 800 and capturing much equipment.
