j The record price of Is 4d a pound wholesale was realised for the first of the new season's peaches, which were sold in Invercargill on Tuesday morning. As far as wholesal e merchants can remember (says tho Southland Times) the previous highest price obtained for peaches is lOd a pound. The fruit, of which there was not a great quantity, came from Clyde, Central Otago. Three boxes realised Is 4d a pound and nine boxes realised lOd,
