Personal Depression
During the hearing of a divorce case in the Supremo Court at Christchurch, Mr. P. H. T. Alpers remarked that a maintenance order under discussion had been made during the depression. ‘ 1 This was made in 1936—1 thought that was one of the times we were round the corner, '' said his Honour. ‘ ‘ There was still a depression as far as the respondent was concerned/' replied Mr. Alpers.
