Theft of Wool From Farm

LOSS OF ABOUT £6O Over three bales of wool, valued at about £SO, were removed from Messrs. Zurcher brothers’ farm ; on the Kai-ranga-Bunnythorpe road, on the night of December 14. There is no house on the farm from which the wool was removed, the woolshed being one which has been converted from other uses. The wool was mixed in type and fleece wool was even taken from the press. No wheclmarks were left in the paddock leading to the shed and, in the absence of transport of some kind, the wool would have to have been rolled in bales or carried a considerable distance to the road. The shed was left at 6 p.m. on the night of tho occurrence and wae visited again at 8 a.m. the next day, when the loss was discovered. The matter has been placed in the hauds of the police who, however, are faced with a most difficult problem in view of the nature of the theft.
