Military Wedding

ROBERTSON—AKERS Of interest to many friends was the wedding which took place quietly in the Lady Chapel of All Saints’ Church on Tuesday last, when Jeanne Barbara, youngest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. H. Akers, of Opiki, was married to lan Stuart, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Ribertson, of Otaki. Rev. G. W. Davidson performed the ceremony and tho organist was Mr. J. Holmes Runnicies. The chapel had been charmingly decorated in tones of pink with carnations, roses and hydrangeas.. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. O. Monrad, wore a becoming gown of ivory laco with high neck, long sleeves, slim fitting to the wrists, and full, trained skirt. Satin applique adorned tho bodice and train. Her tulle veil was held in. place with a coronet of ivory carnations and she carried a bouquet of carnations and roses. Miss Mary Matthews (cousin of the bride) attended her, wearing a fullskirted frock of blue taffeta with short sleeves. She wore pink flowers in her hair, matching her bouquet and the corsage spray on her frock. Mr. Alan Akers (brother of the bride) was best man. Later, Mrs. Akers received about 40 guests at a reception at Opiki, where the drawing room was decorated with sweetpeas and hydrangeas. Mrs. Akers wore a smart frock of black figured crepe patterned in fuchsia and blue, a black hat and black coat of broderie anglaise, and carried a fuchsia toned bouquet. The bridegroom's mothor chose nemesia figured chiffon with a navy hat and navy chiffon coat. Her bouquet was composed of nemesia toned flowers. Also present was Mrs. F. Robinson, of Palmerston North, grandmother of tho bridegroom, who wore a black ensemble and hat, her flowers being fuchsia toned. Tho bridegroom is at present on final leave from the Special Force.
