{ From Our Own Correspondent j Schools’ Amateur Athletic Association. ' The local Schools’ Sports Association I annual meeting was held, on Wednesday night, Mr. A. B. Shannon presiding over a large attendance of delegates. Officers elected were:—Patron, Air. Alfred Kidd; president, Air. A. B. Shannon; vice-presi-dents, chairmen of the eleven schools taking part; secretary, Air. J. A. Wither; starter, Air. J. Corkill. It was decided to obtain a second trophy to be held by the school gaining most points without handicap. The 1940 sports are to be held at jKimbolton on Alarch 2, entries to close a I week after the opening of the schools and |the working bee to prepare the grounds to be held on the Wednsday prior to the [sports. School Picnic. The Cheltenham School picnic was held |on Thursday in fine weather, there being i a large attendance of parents and friends. •Games, sports and bathing combined to 'make a happy day for all. At the prize- ' giving, which took place during the afternoon, special prizes were awarded as follows:—A. Finlayson, in recognition of nine years* regular attendance; Form 11, Sylvia |AlcFarlane; Form I, Dassia Dunstan; standard 4, Norman Anderson; standard 3, Nancy Anderson; standard 2, Ralph Dunstan; points prizes for show' work, S. McFarlane, S. Shannon and A. Finlayson.
