The area on which the new buildings are to stand is situated at the corner of Pitt street and Grey Avenue. It was acquired two years ago at a cost of £25,000, and £23,000 of this amount, which is still owing, is included in the loan for which sanction is being sought The principal alterations in the original plan relate to living accommodation. The actual building cost will be reduced from £127,740 to an estimated £108,793, providing accommodation for 62 men. For married men there will be 21 houses and eight flats, and for single men 33 cubicles.
