Takaro Croquet Club
Members of the Takaro Croquet Club were entertained at a Christmas party on Wednesday afternoon. Various competitions were held on the lawns and Father Christmas attended to distribute gifts to everybody. A dainty afternoon tea was served at gaily decorated tables, after which the president (Mrs. Lyall) congratulated Mrs. P. Jamieson on winning the C grade championship in the recent tournament and presented her with a bouquet with the compliments of members. The winners of the competitions were: Lucky number, Mrs. Cooksley; French, Mrs. Jamieson; golf, Mrs. Lyall; Aunt Sally, Mrs. Spooner; skittles, Mrs. Armstrong.
