POLICEMAN’S UNENVIABLE TASK. Received Wednesday, 11.15 p.m. CHICAGO, Feb. 17. Policeman Edward Kelly, who battled with two desperadoes in tho dark and killed one, in 1928, performed a harder task when he arrested his wife Alice, aged thirty, and charged her with manslaughter following a confession that she drove a motor and killed a prominent attorney in the street on January 17. »She said her conscience kept her awake at nights and forced her to tell her husband.

Kelly said: “When wo are marriod wo are married for good. I stand by her. ”
