War Machines To Predominate
IN 1937 AVIATION ACTIVITY. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Wednesday, 7.15 p.m. CHICAGO, Feb. 17. Howard Welch, manager of the Bendix Aviation Export Corporation, has estimated that nearly a billion dollars would be spent in iy37 throughout the world on new aircraft. Eighty per cent, of the 28,500 units will be fighting 'planes. United States would produce less than a third of the output for war purposes, but military aircraft would predominate in the rest of the world. The total of 28,500 units represent nearly half the world’s existing supply of aircraft. The estimate is based on a study of 56 nations.
