Y.M.C.A. Camp
Notwithstanding the fact that weather conditions have not been ideal for camping, the Y.M.C.A. camp at Pohangina is now well established. A visit to the camp last Monday' afternoon found everything running to schedule. The camp was enjoying its first real sunshine, and the boys w r ere playing cricket —others were out on a paper chase. Although a good deal of rain has fallen and the Pohangina river is up a little, the camp is quite dry. This year the tents are pitched on wooden flqors supported by concrete piles, which is a big improvement. In conversation with Mr C. Woods, who is in charge of the camp, it was iearned that with the exception of one or two slight colds, all the boys are fit and well. “We are having a concert tonight,” said Mr Woods, ”and it promises to be a great success, for some ot the boys will perform and do things here that they wouldn’t do at home. I wish some of the parents could drop in unexpectedly—they would be surprised.”
