Mrs and Miss Phillips Further Entertained
The popularity of Dr., Mrs and Aliss Amy Phillips has been evidenced in a marked degree during the last ten days or so when they have been surrounded by friends eager to do them honour ere they departed from Feilding. Practically every day one or the other has been entertained and they have been busy indeed with so many social activities to attend to. Nevertheless, the parties have been extremely bright and have shown the Dr., his wife and daughter just how much they have been appreciated. On Thursday evening Airs F. Cameron was hostess at a delightful bridge party at her home for Airs and Miss Phillips and welcomed her guests wearing a model frock of black laco with her gown of floral georgette. Airs Phillips wore scarlet flowers at the corsage, her coatee being of black ring velvet and Miss Phillips was in green novelty cloque with a shoulder spray of shaded pink flowers. Bridge was played in the drawing and smoke rooms whero the decorations were exquisitely carried out in the first with pink and mauve dahlias, mauve sweet peas and bowls of mixed flowers and in the second room with roses and dahlias iu glowing tones of gild aud orange. There were six tables of players and the prizes were won by Mesdames W. H. Burrell, Phillips and C. G. C. Dermer. Airs Phillips was tho guest of honour at a bridge party given on Friday afternoon by Mrs J. B. Tmgey at 1 * Te lluringa,” her homo in Kimbolton road. Five tables were set out in the living and breakfast rooms which wore thrown into one and their charm was enhanced by the profusion of lovely dahlias, montbretias and clematis. The prizes were carried off by Airs K. Al. Little, Aliss Holmes aud Airs C. M. Bargisson. it was a very merry afternoon the hostess and her guests making every endeavour that it should be the brightest possible occasion for Airs Phillips who was wearing a smart navy figured ensemble with matching hat. Mrs Tingey received in robe of figured suede marocaiu and Miss Hilda Tingey, who assisted with tho party, was in a pretty little frock of cherry crepe-de-clieno relieved with white.
