Feilding Stock Sale

THIRTY THOUSAND SHEEP OTTERED. JTORE LAMB MARKET EASIER; BREEDING EWE RATES UNSTEADY. Thirty thousand sheep were yarded at the Feilding live-stock sale yesterday. The offering was made up largely of store lambs and breeding ewes and a fair offering of fat sheep. The quality of the store sheep influenced activities considerably, there being many pens of low conditioned lambs and breeding ewes, and for this reason prices fluctuated. There were very few really first-class pens of breeding-ewes and the sales recorded reflected an easing tendency. The best of the 2-ths realised £2 8s for a small pen of about 50. Many pens were passed as they failed to reach vendors' reserves which were considered as being on the high side considering the outside tendency to easier values and ones more in keeping with the economic condition of the wool and meat induatry. Buyers were offered a wide choice in the matter of store lambs and benefited by the easing up in the rates which failed to equal those ruling last weok. Fat sheep were firm although ewe mutton was inclined to be easier. Some nice wethers on account of Mr. E. W. Barnett, of Tokorangi, realised up to 32a. Lambs were offered in fair numbers with prices ranging from £1 to 28a A rather large offering of fat cattle was made up of dairy sorts with a few choice pens of station cattle which realised to £ll 9a Dairy sorts were cheaper generally. •‘Boner 1 * cows dominated the offering in the store cattle pens and sold at prices fully up to late Tates. A line of young Aberdeen Angus steers realised £7 5a

A small yarding of dairy stock completed the offering and these sold on a quality basis.
