LAND UNDER OFFER (Special to “Times.") HASTINGS, Feb. 12. That in all probability a certain cumber of houses will be erected in Hastings under the Government housing scheme was the announcement made by the Major Mr. G. A. Maddisob, at the meeting of the Hastings Borough Council last evening, when he reported that Mr. R. B. Hammond, JJirectjpr of Town Planning, who ds also an officer under the housing scheme, together wjth the Commissioner of Crown Lands, had visited Hastinga on Wednesday to inspect the areas that have been offered to the Government for building upon under the housing scheme. “The various areas under offer were inspected, and as far as can be ascertained it seems fairly certain that a certain amount will be allocated to Hastings,” said tho Mayor, “but I Cannot say how many houses will be erected.”
