Egmont Meeting Concludes To-day

MORE GOOD RACING INDICATED. The Egmont Racing Club’s autumn meeting will conclude at Haweru to-day. The acceptances are again good and move exciting racing is indicated. Taking a line through the form disclosed on Thursday it zuay be expected that the following horses will be well supported in their engagements: Okaiawa Hurdles: Beau Star, Don Erma. Waimate Handicap: Clessamor, No-, Mum. Meremere Hack Handicap: Airing Export, Great Hope. Tonks Stakes: Taitoru, Dungarvan, Onewhetu. Electric Juvenile Handicap: Wildflower, Ripple, Lickem. Normanby Hack Handicap: Brazen King, Le Grand, Bantry or Airing. Trial Hack Handicap: Kentucky Song, Gay step, Valroy. Inaha Hack Handicap: Sanhedrim, The Bigot, International THE ACCEPTANCES.

WOODVILLE RACES NEXT SATURDAY. REQUEST TO MOTORISTS. The longest way round may be the shortest way home, and the Woodville District Jockey Club for its coming meeting is acting on this in requesting drivers of cars going through the Gorge to leave the course by the top entrance gate, and then turn to the right. The first turning to the left will bring them firs turning to the left will bring them ou to the main highway to Palmerston North with less than half a mile extra running, which will be amply compensated for in the saving of time. Hawke's Bay cars are requested to leave by the road to the left after leaving the course. Then the second turning to the right will bring them on to the main highway at the bowser station without giving them any extra running. Compliance with these suggestions will be \uite voluntary.
